          July 8th, 2006

Well, today I went to the drug store
for bug spray for the kids and Pepsi.

I did not want to go, my neck
had level 8 pain and my head was fuzzy and felt heavy. My left
hip kept going numb and tightened up when I walked.

I was only in the store for
about 10 mins. when I ran into Mrs. Templeton, my moms old friend
we had not seen in years.

She was in a wheel chair with
Rheumatoid arthritis so bad her fingers were curled up in her
palms. She has lost all use of her hands. She could no longer
walk, type, knit, hold a book. She relies on her husband and kids
              for her care.

I felt like a wimp whining over
              my pain at this moment.

Today I am grateful that I may have
pain, and it may hurt me to use my arms, but I can still use them.

                  I guess I am
grateful for the level of health I do have.

Today I am grateful for the tooth
being out. I am grateful for a wonderful hubby even if he does get
under my skin. I am grateful for all the wonderful friends I have
here on the group. I am grateful that I got up this morning. I am
grateful we have a/c and fans.

                * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

 One day I went along
to the store with Jim. They know him big time over at the store.
The manager will yell over to him, we have pedialyte in the back
for you, 2 cases. Boy what a way to remember someone huh. ;-0

So we did alot of shopping that day
in there well anyways for me. I was tripping over the cane as we
came up to the checkout. Jim was looking wilted too.

So the lady that was bagging our
stuff goes I will help you out with this. Jim goes oh no I can
do it. She came up beside him and said no I have to my boss is
watching me. All I saw were the regular workers there. I think
she was being really nice and saw that Jim had had it and was
about to drop. I think she said that so he would take the help.
You know stubborn men, oh no they never need help.

          July 9th, 2006

Well, today I have a new twist to be
              grateful for.

Oddly enough it is my poor
              health.

I used to set up at local collectible,
              antique and flea market shows.

                 My health has forced me
to stop as I can no longer carry, unpack and then pack up all the
              stuff.

So, I am putting some of it on
Freecycle.org as I have the time.

Today, I was able to connect
with a lady who is so sick she can not drive, she can not work and
lives on her disability money. She lost her feet to diabetes and
              more.

I offered up a bunch of
books I had packed away, a ton of mysteries and she responded.

I was able to get 40 plus books
into the hands of this lady who can not drive to the library or
              afford to buy books online.

                 For once, my poor health
              had a good benefit.

I am extremely grateful today that our wee Hannah was released from
the hospital and can spend a week at home before heading to Sick
            Kids again :))

            1. The check my friend sent.
            2. My sons helping me get my email list back that I lost this
            morning.
            3. I got a shower today. (I can't always get one, have to wash up
            because
too weak and shaky to stand in shower and can't do baths in tub.)
            4. It was 98 today instead of 106 like yesterday.
            5. I am alive and kicking and screaming. ;-)

            6. My blood work looked fine or so they say.
            7. I have you gals for friends
            8. I have Jim for my hubby
            9. I have such smart kids that really know how to do computer stuff.
            (since
I seem to keep messing it up)
            10. I am now minus a wisdom tooth that shouldn't have been there.

            11. I have a really great friend (sister) in Denise who talked to me
            for 2
hrs on phone after the disappointing day with the dr. That helped me
            too.
            12. Val's site that is helping both Denise and I escape it all
            13. Denise's brother came thru surgery ok today.
            14. I found out my two fms friends didn't live in the fire area.
            15. One of my other fms friends is doing a tad better than she was.

Ok, I think enough for now. I probably could keep going on and on.
            When you
really look for it, you can find positives and things you can be
            thankful
            for.
