’s largest pharmacy retailer, Katz Group Canada Ltd., unveiled its new
concept Rexall Drug Store in Val Caron. To mark the Grand Opening and
Rexall’s commitment to the health of the community, a $2000 donation was
made to Community Living Greater Sudbury, a non-profit organization that
provides residential and day support to over 100 individuals with
intellectual and/or physical disability living in the Greater Sudbury
Area. In the photo, Store Manager and Pharmacist, Julie Olivier, on the

Community Living Greater Sudbury. Warren Jeffery, Executive Vice
President, Operations, Katz Group Canada Ltd., explained that Julie had
recommended the CLGS organization since a big part of the pharmacy related
categories is Home Health Care and assisted living products.
In
accepting the donation, Deborah announced, “This year, our Family Home
Program chose to fundraise for assisted living equipment such as a modular
ramp and a hoyer system. The portable ramp allows us to make homes readily
accessible for those individuals who have to rely on wheelchairs for
mobility. The ramp will provide our clients with more choices, and an
opportunity to experience fuller integration in their community.”
Deborah
continued, “The portable hoyer system assists people with transferring
from one area to another in a safe and secure manner. The help of these
devices not only makes it safer for people who need assistance with daily
living but also increases their feelings of dignity and belonging.”
