The Sudbury & District Health Unit has
confirmed that a fox who recently attacked a dog in the Onaping Lake
area was confirm positive for rabies last Wednesday, March 14. The media
release states that last known rabid animal in this area was nine years
ago, however Fox rabies, has been reported recently in the Timmins/Cochrane
area.
Pet owners are encourage to ensure their pets
are properly protected against rabies by making sure they receive their
