Valley East Mixed Slo-Pitch Qualifying Championships Won

| A total of 24 teams began the weekend looking for the
honour of being named "A" Champs in the Annual Valley East
Mixed Slo-Pitch League’s Qualifying Tournament held the weekend of
July 20-22. At the end of the day, however, it was Ugi’s prevailing
over Rick Comtois Financial in the finals to take top prize. Members of
the winning team included: Dan, Chantal and Sylvie Trepanier, Maureen
and Marc Blanchard, Laura McGrath, Cindy and Peter Pearson, Roger,
Nicole and Brad Givoque, Christine Hunter, Mike Reiber, Ron Poulin, Rob
Fabilli, Louise and Scott Duke, Lynn Sequin, Jason MacIssac and Shane
McGillis.
In the "B" Division, it was The Brew Crew over The Mer in a
contest that was close until the middle of the game when a big inning
gave the Crew the lead it needed. Members of the winning team include:
Ron, Jan, Krista, Melissa and Craig Bigras, Roger and Mike Pilotte, Mike
McNulty, Kerrie Gillis, Marc Branning, Cora Babij, Chris Lapensee,
Vickie MacLean, Cory Kennedy, Chad Cote and Richie Coufal.
The team sponsored by Clearview/Warren Paving downed Mobile Parts to
take the "C" Division. Members of the winning club included:
Andy Duguay, Leo Kilganon, Paul Pitura, Jason Murphy, Rick Lafrance,
Shawn Aubin, Shannon Lafrance, Melissa Lafrance, Darlene Lafrance,
Trisha and Kristy Pitura, Jane Restoule and Suzanne Kilganon.
The "D" Champs were the Love Shackers with a win over The
Team. Winners included: Debbie and Gerry Read, Ron Mrochek, Don Bruneau,
Pauline and Ron Fournier, Don Harvey, Cindy Lavoie, Janelle Cote, Tim
and Terry Binkley, Jason Salemink, and Laura and Doug Trites. |
