VALLEY EAST WAVES SWIM CLUB

Valley East Waves Swim Club Ready Anxious To Make A Big Splash During the 2005-2006 Season

The Valley East Waves Swim Club is looking forward to another excellent season of competition, as evident from the eager looking faces on the girls during registrations which were held at the Hanmer Valley Shopping Centre during Valley East Days weekend.

Shown above helping out with registrations are, from the left: Mrs. Lee Jewell, Club Treasurer; Meaghan Donnelly-Perras (14); Tori Jewell (11); and Brianna Cowling (13).

Brianna, who attends Grade 9 at Lockerby Composite School , is entering her 4th season as a competitive swimmer. She recently won the 3.2 km Ian McCloy Island Swim in her age category. Tori attends Grade 7 at Marymount Academy and is going into her 2nd year with the Waves. Meaghan attends Bishop Alexander Carter in Grade 9 and is in her 2nd year as a Wave.

The first team meet of the 2005-2006 season was the NEOR Developmental #1 at Laurentian on October 29-30.

This year the Waves will be adding a new program to morning swims when they make Master Swimming available to anyone over the age of 18. This is for people who want to stay in shape doing length swimming.

If anyone requires information about the Masters Program or about the Waves in  general, contact Sharon Leger at 969-1360 or email her at bsleger@personainternet.com
