Dixie Lee Chicken Gives Out Hundreds Of Free Ice Cream Cones To Promote Team Sports Activities In Valley East

Dixie Lee Chicken, located at the Hanmer Valley Shopping Centre, was a popular place with children and parents alike during the month of June. As part of a Customer Appreciation promotion, Dixie Lee provided free ice cream cones to children under the age of 16 who wore any kind of team sweater and who picked up a coupon from one of eight other participating merchants in the mall.

By the end of the month, Dixie Lee had given out 779 ice cream cones worth a total value of over $800. This was the best way that Joeanne Lafond, owner of Dixie Lee, and her staff could think of to show their support of minor sports participants in Valley East.

As well as the free ice cream cones, the following people won valuable prizes from individual merchants in the mall:

Sharon Welsh, of Hanmer, won a $50 gift certificate from Billie Jeans;
Dan Dube, of Hanmer, won a pair of Roots sunglasses from Drs. Dunlop and Labreque, Optometrists;
Brandee Pearson, of Val Caron, won a Movie Rental Package from Popcorn Audio & Video;
Mark Poitras, of Hanmer, won a gift certificate from Gallery & Brew Shop;
Leeza Burdux, of Capreol, won a T-shirt and Gerbil toys from The Pet Palace;
Dan Dube, of Hanmer, was a double winner, taking a prize pack of computer games from Valley Computers.
Solemates Family Footwear and Lou's Shoe Repair also awarded prizes.
