Every Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. and again in the evening at 7 p.m., both career and volunteer firefighters from the Valley East stations take part in hands-on training sessions to keep up to date on the latest in techniques. Below are some of the fire fighters as they practice vehicle extrication with the "jaws of life".

The "spreader" being put in place below, will lift the dash of an automobile in seconds.
